This momo session @ Hungama was interactive and cool. The first of the speakers was Pradeep Anand of Innovative Interactive Infotainment. He dealt with Rich Content for Mobiles. He gave insightful thoughts on the present and future scenario of Mobile-VAS. The operator issue popped out again and again. The fast advent of Wi-Fi and WLAN will give a shot in the arm for the content developers. His view that in the near future we will be able to bypass the operator by using Wi-Fi / WLAN is true to happen I suppose. And One 97 ringtone card launch at pantaloon outlets is a step in this direction. One interesting info -These guys take 23 steps to ensure quality of true tones. Oops !
Then it was Jaskirat Singh Gill & Saleem Mobhani, Hungama on Way forward and Consumer Experience on Mobile Music. Music Piracy (wherez India’s RIAA ?), ways of distribution, pricing were some topics.
